Attorney Kenneth L. Harvey has advised clients for nearly 30 years. He spent the first two decades of his practice at a large national firm and was a member of the largest and one of the most sophisticated trusts and estates practices in America. As a result, Ken brings highly sophisticated expertise to all his clients. Ken focuses primarily on tax and estate planning, trusts and estates law, estate and trust administration, probate, guardianships, fiduciary services, charitable giving, federal and state taxation, and other related matters.
Ken has been named one of America’s best trusts and estates attorneys by Worth Magazine’s “Top 100 Attorneys” list. He combines big law firm experience, skill and sophistication with the personal attention and cost of a small-town lawyer. Ken’s estate planning work covers a range from preparing simple Wills so new parents can name guardians for their new-born baby, to assisting adult children in planning for the long-term nursing care needs of their elderly parents. He also has decades of experience undertaking extremely sophisticated tax planning for high net worth individuals and families. Ken has significant experience advising and serving as a fiduciary in the administration of estates, trusts and charitable organizations. Ken provides every client the highly personalized attention and excellent care their matter deserves.
Prior to forming his own firm, Ken was a partner at the national firm of Holland & Knight LLP. He received his law degree from Columbia Law School and his undergraduate degree from Southern Utah University. Ken is frequently published and quoted in numerous publications, including The Boston Business Journal, Financial Planning Magazine, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Los Angeles Times, and has spoken before a wide variety of audiences on estate planning and administration matters. Before law school, Ken worked with Upward Bound and on Capitol Hill for a U.S. Congressman. He also was appointed by the Governor of Utah to the Utah State Board of Regents, serving as the Student Regent advocate for the student bodies of Utah’s ten universities and colleges.
In addition to advising clients on the formation of charitable organizations, Ken has been active in numerous civic, professional and charitable organizations, serving as an advisor, officer and board member of several charitable institutions, including nearly 30 years with the Boy Scouts of America. Ken is currently a member of the board of directors of the TB12 Foundation, LLC, a non-profit organization formed by New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady dedicated to maximizing the health, well-being, and athletic potential of elite young American amateur athletes. In addition, he has been very involved in administrative matters for his religious organization, both locally and regionally.
